Iberdrola and BeePlanet have commissioned the first commercial energy storage system based on second-life batteries to supply electric vehicle charging stations.
The system has been installed at kilometre 175 of the A-3 Madrid–Valencia motorway (Área 175, operated by the Avanza Group) and enables the simultaneous charging of up to four electric vehicles.
The battery energy storage system delivers 100 kW of power with a storage capacity of 200 kWh, providing continuous high-power charging for up to two hours.
